    The person behind Lorien

    Hey, I’m Phil.

I build websites for a living — and I genuinely care about doing it well. When you work with Lorien, you work with me.

    Columbus raised. Ohio rooted.

    The story

I’ve worked on the web from a few different angles — agency campaigns that had to perform, and platform work at a scale most small teams never see.

Phil — owner and developer at Lorien Web

I spent time at a large independent ad agency here in Central Ohio building sites and digital campaigns where the work actually had to perform. Before that, I was a web developer at Meta. That experience showed me how the internet works at massive scale — and how often smaller organizations get overlooked.

    Now it’s just me.

    I like it that way.

    How I work with you

    • Direct line to Phil. No layers of meetings, handoffs, or inflated retainers.
    • Modern standards, sized for you. The same tools big teams use — applied to small businesses, churches, and nonprofits.
    • Mission-aligned rates. Transparent pricing and nonprofit discounts — see nonprofit web design.

I grew up in Columbus. College in southern Ohio. My wife grew up there too. This is home — and I like building things that stick around. Web design across Central Ohio is where a lot of that work happens.

I’m not trying to build the next Silicon Valley unicorn. I’m trying to build solid, thoughtful websites for real people doing meaningful work.

A few organizations I’ve worked with.

    • Hope Presbyterian Church logo

      Hope Presbyterian Church

Redesigned and rebuilt from Church Plant Media to a custom React site with Sanity — staff can tend sermons and events; the church owns the code.

    • The Lucky Duck Foundation logo

      The Lucky Duck Foundation

WordPress updates and content structure so staff could keep the mission site current without a developer on call.

    • Dragonfly Bookshop logo

      Dragonfly Bookshop

Custom ordering workflow and event listings — fast on mobile, accessible, and theirs to keep.

If that sounds like what you need — we'll probably get along just fine.

    Next step

    Let’s talk about your project.

No obligation — just a real conversation with the person who would build your site.
